Doncha hate how these infamous blunders live on so long after the gut-wrenching moment they originally occurred? I figure that the next time a pitcher sails a ball into foul territory on a routine grounder, he'll be said to have "Tigered" or "Verlandered" it... :o(
My heartache as a Cowboy fan is continuing, and I don't see it ending anytime soon. Bengaled wasn't necessarily the right term (apologies are definitely owed to Cincy); I think we could have said "Cowboyed" that and it would have applied the same sense of frustration. I don't know what made my stomach turn more -- the botched hold or the fact that Romo was so agonizingly close to getting that first down....- Matt
Could have been worse .. could have said:"Chief Romo bengaled the ball"... glad the season of Chief torture is finally over :(
