In the spirit of Ampersand's post last week about the Wild Card Picks, I thought I'd ask you all to commit to this week's picks.
Bears or Seahawks?
Colts or Ravens?
Saints or Eagles?
Chargers or Patriots?
I'm taking the Bears, Colts, Saints and Patriots.
I don't know that the Colts can beat the Ravens, but the Bengals did and I'm hopeful that the Colts are just that much more hungry to prove something than the Ravens are. I am rooting for those Saints—the little engine that could. And while there is no one in the NFL who can stop LT, Tom Brady might be the one guy who can outscore him down the stretch. I don't actually care about the Bears or Seahawks... but it's a home game for the Bears.
So who are you picking?
Edited to add: Rats! Ampersand did already ask for picks. So if you posted there, no need to post here. I read both places and will hold you accountable regardless. :)

Ha, no worries, the more picks the merrier :-).
I'll go on public record here too...Ravens, Bears, Saints, Chargers.
Since I know nothing of football, I asked hubster what he thought. These are his picks:
Seahawks, Colts, Saints, Chargers…
Susan
I am looking forward to watching some football this week-end, especially the Chargers/Patriot and Colts/Ravens games...I am rooting for the Chargers to go all the way and my upset special of the week is the Colts over the Ravens. I'll go with the Bears and Saints in the other two games...
No one will pick these ...
Seahawks, Colts, Eagles and Chargers
... are the Chiefs out of the playoffs :)
This is tough since I pretty much only watched the Bengals (and the teams the Bengals played of course) this season.
I'll go with:
Seahawks
Eagles
Colts
Chargers
Really not more than wild guesses. I think the Eagles are hot now. The Colts can outscore anybody and the Ravens can't put up that many points. I saw the Chargers destroy the Bengals. LT is unstoppable.
I will stick with the home team in each game. Bears, Saints, Ravens, Chargers.
Hey Bob,
I have heard that life moves a bit slower in the Midwest than the West Coast where I live but I didn't realize things moved that slow...But take heart.... You can probably catch the Chiefs victory over the Vikings in 1970 on the NFL channel which will probably rebroadcast many of the Super Bowl games in the weeks to come....
Bilbo, we don't get the NFL channel in the Midwest. It takes too long for the satellite signal to find its way through all the clouds, trees and cornstalks.
Hey Bill,
Don't you live close to Oakland? Even the new NFL network isn't going to cover the Raiders next year but maybe Al Davis can buy a satellite network for them :)
Chargers - Saints - Colts (in an upset) - Seahawks (Bears just don't have an offense that can keep up, should Seattle find a way to start scoring).
- Matt
Hey Dave and Bob,
Dave...Don't you folks out in the midwest cut down the cornstocks at the end of the harvest season?...Bob...I actually live closer to L.A. and San Diego than Oakland which is why I am a Charger fan. I hate the Raiders and never have rooted for them even when they were in L.A. winning the Superbowl....
WEll, I don't know about the other teams but I'll have to go with the home team, the Eagles, for the Eagles -Saints game. Although I "feel" for the Saints, the Eagles are hot right now. Any team that can pull it together with their second string quarterback playing first string has to be hot. It's been quite an interesting season.
Hey Bill -- You and I are together with regard to the Chargers ... at least today :)
Update: Looks like Julie, Susan, Bill, Brian, Matt, and yours truly called it for the Colts-Raven game ... but who's keeping track :)
Rofl!
Well, looks like Susan and Julie are two for two!! :)
Can't wait for tomorrow.
Damn, I gotta stop picking against the colts just because I don't like them. *smacks side of head*
Kim, nobody who picked the Colts to win predicted them to do it without any touchdowns and only giving up six points. I had NO confidence in the Indy defense, having owned them all season on my fantasy team. Where was that stout crew when I needed them back in Week 14?! That game, they allowed 44 points and 427 yards to the Jaguars and played an instrumental role in ending my season quite rudely and abruptly. I figured last week's solid play against Kansas City was a fluke, but suddenly the Colts' D is performing the way I expected them to when I drafted them. If that keeps up, Peyton will get his ring after all...
Thanks for the consolation, Dave.
I'm watching the Bears and Seahawks now...how much does Mike Holmgren, in that parka, look like the Michelin Man?!?
