Apple iPhone: Those guys are out of control

Click on the photo to see larger picture and click here to go to the website and then, I'm not kidding, spend the next fifteen minutes clicking on all the things the new iPhone can do and watch the most amazing future of iPods, cell phones, Google earth, portable Internet, photo album, television and movies... You name it, it does it.

Drooling...

And that's only half of the big Apple news today. Check out Apple TV - basically integrating all the info on your home computer network so that it can play on your big screen television... movies, music, photos, whatever... $300!

I know! Isn't that cool? Basically we are looking at a future where Apple will coordinate all aspects of photography from taking the pix to storing and sharing them, movie taking and viewing, music storing and playing, plus all your computer needs ... coordinated from the largest desktop computer to the tiniest iPhone....

What an idea!

I'm in the market for a PDA/phone but don't want to spend the $$$ for the iPhone ... any recommendations from you techno-geeks?

First I should say that the iPhone is way beyond what I expect to have or need within the next year or two... I seriously doubt that I'll be in on the first wave or two of its production. My phone is pretty basic - doesn't even have a camera! So I'm not an expert on PDA's, but if I were to get one today, I'd probably go with a Blackberry Pearl. Mainly because that's the next step up on the T-Mobile contract I'm locked into until 2008.

Plus, iPhone won't be available until June in any case, and I take "in the market" as meaning sooner than that.

Hilarious cartoon! I shared it with Jacob and he cracked up. :)

Looks really cool. But, I just bought a new iPod. There's no way I can justify $500 for a telephone, no matter how smart it is.

It's been a few days since I've had a chance to check out your site, and I see that your last three post are interesting to me:
1) BSC Champs: I picked Florida to win, but not by THAT much. I'm a huge Auburn fan, so I put aside my Gator-hating ways for the night to support the SEC family. Indeed, I think the best thing the game did was quiet those who said UF didn't deserve the chance to play. Also, now Auburn is the only team to have beaten the national champs. War Eagle!! :)

2) I'm gay, so this article interested me as well. I get so irritated with activist types sometimes, because while they are often the movers and shakers behind great advancements, sometimes, they're just an irritant. I'll post on my own blog about my views on gay marriage sometime, but I appreciate your posting that article.

3) Apple phone: I'm a graphic design, and love anything and everything by Apple!! Back a few years ago before the iPod brought them back into the mainstream consciousness, PC people were talking about Apple's imminent demise. The best retort I saw to that was "Apple will never go out of business. If they did, Bill Gates wouldn't have anyone to copy their ideas." :)

Cheryl, great to have you posting! I'd love to read your take on the gay marriage issue too. I'll have to go check out your blog.

So true about Apple being the source of all good ideas. :) No argument from me here.
