Project 365

Have you heard of this?

Lots of my online friends are going to attempt to take one picture every day for a year and log them online.

I'm utterly intimidated by the prospect of making a commitment that requires 365 individual fulfillments in a row! However, I decided not to let that stop me. I'm going to simply contribute a new photo as often as I can, attempting to chronicle some of my life over the next 12 months. And to help me get started, I posted two photos from the last two days to get a bit ahead. :)

I've put my flickr badge in the sidebar for those interested in following along. You might want to try it too and we can all view each others'. I started a Julie Unplugged 365 blog too, but may not use it. I'll see. For now, flickr feels like a better choice.

Let me know if you decide to take the plunge, er, challenge!

Both photos are great. Love the angle of the puzzle one, and love seeing Caitrin and how she looks now...as well as her pride in her painting. Good for her! I don't have a flickr account and hate signing up for new accounts....I never can remember my identity or password or whatnot. So I'm commenting here! Kudos to you. Can I link either the blog or the flickr site? That way you'll know I'm expecting a photo pretty often!

You sure can! I think you're much more likely to succeed at this than I am. I am looking forward to keeping up through your blog with everyone else's so I am counting on you to sheperd the movement. :)

Flickr is easy and I thought it might help me keep track of the order of the photos over the year. Also, that way, I don't have to maintain several blogs. I am thinking I'll just log photos, not comment etc.

Julie, I'm doing this too. I think it will cause me to look at my days in a new way. I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone's photos.

May I link your flickr from my 365 blog?

Yep link away. Anyone who's doing it may link me and let me know yours so I can keep track too.

I mentioned this to my wife just now, and she seemed as intrigued by the idea as I am. And with the big changes we have coming in the next few months, there should be a lot to post. I'll let you know the link once I've got one set up.

Julie, this is inspiring. Very uncharacteristically of me...I think I am going to do this.

I have never been a picture person, but Robbie and I just got new phones two days ago...with cameras in them.

So I think I'm going to do this!

I spend time each day at Flickr. And I am taken by all those who have the nerve to try the 365 project.

I don't have the nerve, but admire those who do. I'd like to know how many make it through for all 365 days and take a picture each and every day.

Good luck!

Steve's comment matches a lot of what I'm thinking. I get bogged down contemplating the tedium of having to remove the camera, snap the pic, download the pic, upload the pic, etc. each day. I think I would run out of enthusiasm after awhile.

On the other hand, it's an interesting discipline and could be an enjoyable quest for at least awhile. My thought at the moment is that I may play along by posting photos directly to my own blog and bypass the Flickr thing. But I still have a day and a half before 2007 starts so I may change my mind one way or another before then...

Great idea, guess I better warm up my camera and recharge the batteries.

Jim, you'll be great at it! Everyone, go check out theChurchGeek's website and his flick badge that shows his trip to Scotland. He's got great photos. His was one reason i went with flickr for uploading. I love the look of that little badge. :)
