In cliff-hanging upset, UCLA over USC!!!

Just getting my headline ready to go.

UPDATE: OMG!! 1:01 to go with UCLA in control of the ball: 13-9, can this be happening?

Gutty Little Bruins, indeed, Steve!!! Looks like snow in hell tonight.

Upset of the year. Oh yeah. That win makes my football season. Hats off to Dorrell and the whole team.

P.S. Looks like my headline was exactly appropriate, Bill. :)

I see you have been reading Norman Vincent Peale in one of your grad classes...good for you...I will have more to say later, after the game. I have a boat load of chores to do before the big game...I will say this for now. I don't expect an upset, but I do expect a close game....My prediction...USC 24 UCLA 13....But...USC won't pull away until the fourth quarter....

I am writing this while I watch the game.

It is my firmest belief that anyone who beats USC will will be welcomed into heaven.

The Good Lord knows that USC is from the dark side!

7-2 - first quarter, enjoy it while it lasts!!

Cowan is amazing. I'll bet that he'll be even better next year. I can't tell you nhownice it is to watch my team on TV out here.

Hi five to you Steve, fellow Bruin. Pass the chips.

Lol -look at how bad my typing got during the game. Adrenaline much?

Kim, glad UCLA could deliver hours of talk radio material by upsetting the BCS. :) Colin Cowherd, Mike and Mike and Dan Patrick ought to be sending them free ESPN schwag as a thank you.

Let me be the first to congratulate Bilbo on correctly predicting UCLA's score in comment #2. Way to call 'em, Bill!

I don't have much to say. No excuses, no what ifs... Hats off to the Bruin's defense. They played one hell of a game. Now if you all don't mind I'll crawl back in my hobbit hole and mourn the rest of the evening....

BCS madness, indeed.

As a lifelong Auburn fan, I find it odd to find myself pulling so hard for Florida in the SEC championship.(must be the snow in hell thing. :)

Thanks, UCLA, for giving an SEC team a shot at the championship!

(Still nursing the wound from two years ago...Auburn going 12-0 and still not getting a chance to play for the championship.)

When, oh, when, will they institute a playoff to avoid this kind of stuff... and hey, extend the season in the process!! Woo hoo!!

Yea, Bruins!!

Sweeney...er...sorry...Bogart! Don't kow it you got my first comment so I'm resending thisone. It is cold all over the country today, seems to be coming from somewhere down below, or is it just Ohio? :) What's going on? Rumor has it that Norris had actually gone out and bought a new tie to go with the green leisure suit that he was planning on wearing to work this Monday. Ask him about it. He was probably cleaning and pressing it during the game. I'm sure he'll be happy to give Dave the tie for Christmas. lol....... a secret admirer.

First...who the HECK is Allseasons?! This person MUST reveal their identity. Only about 4 people in the world know of the cult of the Sacred Green Leisure Suit! Come out of the closet Allseaons, and reveal thyself!!

Second, this is the best day in sports since last January 1st!

Hail to the Hills!!

All seasons, who knows my maiden name and Steve's green leisure suit (of which I know nothing) do reveal thyself! This is the first comment of yours I've seen so thanks for posting!

Steve, amen, and amen! Will be adding a photo montage of the big game when I get the chance to hi-jack's espn's action shots.

I am rooting for Florida, too, Cheryl. A rematch of Wolverines and OSU just doesn't sound as interesting...

I suppose this outcome also derails the "Michigan Vs. USC for #2" bandwagon that I know was just starting to take off... If Florida gets picked to play OSU in the final game, I hope that U of M and USC get to square off in the Rose Bowl. Is there a chance of that happening? I am willing to let others tell me what to expect on this - I won't even begin to try and delve into the complexities of how these games are set up. I have enough other stuff to point my brain at.

The angels rejoiced all night long! Things are good again on earth.

OK, it does look like it will be Wolverines vs. Trojans after all! Great. And I think that the winner of that game should wind up the #2 team in the country. And the loser of the OSU/Florida game should be either #3 or #4 in the final rankings.

I also think this means that Bilbo and I have some trash talking to do over on our own respective blogs.
