Home from the Springs

Sorry I've been out of commission, but I'm just not that sorry. :) My four best friends from high school invited me out to Palm Springs to spend a "Girls Getaway" weekend with them and I just got back.

Weather in the 90s (yes!), new flavors of martinis, a beautiful pool, palm trees, fabulous dinners at exotic restaurants and talking non-stop start to finish.

I hope to reflect a bit more on the power and value of seeing friends who knew you when you were young. Deeply affirming and in many ways healing for me.

In the mean time, though, I need to catch up on the 100 emails sitting in my inbox.

More soon.

Welcome back, Julie. I was missing your comments here and on the list this past weekend. It was a treat to hear from you again when I checked my messages this morning.

Glad to hear that you had a great getaway! Got pics?

Good for you. It is healing to get with old friends and just allow ourselves to get lost there. It can be like a breath of fresh air.

I thought perhaps you had decided on raising fish, or modern dance, or needlepoint, or barrel racing in place of theology ;-)

I envy your break and the fact that you are still in touch with people from that part of your life. Only my immediate family remain to me of those who knew me before my mid-twenties.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone.

Ahhhh. It's good to be home. Nice weather here actually. Rebecca, you have the most interesting list of potential life choices. Wonder if an MA in theology qualifies me for any of them!
