Here's a photo that I think deserves to be seen (Obama resoled these once on the campaign trail already and was due for another resoling.... interesting contrast to Sarah Palin's $150K wardrobe in the news today.)
HuffPo writes:
Indeed, the story (Palin's wardrobe expenditures) could not come at a more inopportune time for the McCain campaign. During a week in which the Republican ticket is trying to highlight its connection to the working class -- and, by extension, promoting its newest campaign tool, Joe the Plumber -- it was revealed that Palin's fashion budget for several weeks was more than four times the median salary of an American plumber ($37,514). To put it another way: Palin received more valuable clothes in one month than the average American household spends on clothes in 80 years. A Democrat put it in even blunter terms: her clothes were the cost of health care for 15 or so people.(about $2000 per day of her campaign since the announcement on August 29)
I found this set of photos through Daily Kos. Callie (photographer) traces Obama's journey from before he announced his candidacy to the DNC. The photos are gorgeous and the moments she captured, indicative of the man I have come to admire.
Sometimes pictures do speak more loudly than any words can.

Julie,
I liked the photo. I hope though that Obama fares better than the last famous presidential candidate photographed with a hole in the sole of his shoes....Adlai Stevenson who ran against Eisenhower.
The now famous photograph of Stevenson won a Pulitzer prize in 1953. It can be found on Google images. Interesting story behind it too...
13 days... can you believe it? I have goosebumps just thinking about it. hope is in the air.
I've got serious goosebumps. I go to see Hairspray on Sunday (the play, not the movie) and last night, listening to the soundtrack, there is one line in "You Can't Stop the Beat" that says, "And tomorrow is a brand new day and it won't know white from black!" and I just burst into tears. That day is HERE!
um, doesn't strike you as odd that Palin's wardrobe is even News. I haven't seen articles about Biden's, McCain's or even Obama's wardrobes. It just seems extremely sexist to me to make her choice of clothing budget an issue, unless she paid for those clothes with gov't funds.
ok, sorry, read the article and see that I did jump the gun a little bit and the clothes did come from the campaign budget which I think is wrong, but it seems that is a pretty common practice.
