The Irish go down in flames

And this Bruin has nothing but respect for Pete Carroll. What a coach.

Dare I ask it? Is Brady Quinn over-rated as a QB?

More reflections on the game: Did it seem to you that the commentators worked especially hard to pretend this game was a "great game" and a "close game" when it has been clear since halftime that the Trojans had the whole thing sewn up?

They tried to say Booty's confidence was shaken. Spare me. ND showed a little heart with the interceptions, but they have been short circuiting in the scoring department for the entire game.

Dare I admit it? I may have to root for the Trojans to go to the BCS Championship. I don't think anyone else can give OSU a run for their money. Still, the Bruins have their shot at USC next week and I know I won't abandon my Bruins until after that game.

God Bless you for your abiding faith in the nearly impossible, Julie. But never say never with the Gutty Little Bruins! I am taking the Bruins and 21 points.

I for one, cannot find it in my DNA to root for Trojan anything. You are a better soul than I. I am feeling the need to worship at the grave of Woody Hayes coming on!

Hi Julie,

I'm back on the USC is the best team in the country bandwagon again...and...it feels oh so good....I don't think Brady Quinn is over-rated but I do think the Notre Dame program is overated. I give them credit for beating the teams they ought to beat but they can't beat the other ranked teams and they get crushed by the likes of USC, Michigan, and Ohio State....and...their only claim to fame over the last two years is that they "almost" beat USC last year...but...so did Fresno State, Oregon, and Arizona State...I agree that I think USC is the only team left standing that can give OSU a run for their money and they may be good enough to beat OSU because of their defense, team speed, and the many great athletes they have on both sides of the ball...and...I suspect OSU is going to have a rude awakening when they step on the field with a team that has as much speed and talent as they do, although I concede they lack OSU's experience...

Oh trust me, Steve, if the men of Troy go to Gelndale against the Buckeyes, I'll be rooting for the Buckeyes! :) My deepening roots in Ohio require it.

Will be thinking of you next weekend and wish I could pull up an overstuffed armchair along side you and root! (Will you be keeping a safe distance from Rob during the game or do you torture yourselves and watch together yelling at the TV for opposite reasons?)

Bill, I knew you'd be elated and while I think USC has a good team, I think OSU is unbeatable. They are like a pro team... amazing.
