Sitting close to the Boss

Just purchased two tix to the acoustic Bruce Springsteen Devils and Dust tour (August 1). He's coming to Cincinnati! So not traumatic at all in the purchasing department and we are in premier seats on the floor. Should be glorious.

Is he not the cutest?
Oh, oh come take my hand
We're riding out tonight to case the promised land

::Sigh::

Your'e beginning to sound like a groupie Julie. Ever thought about becoming one of those roadies who travel with the band?...Just sour grapes...Hope you enjoy what sounds like another wonderful concert experience. You and Dave have your concert experiences while I have my wilderness experiences. I'd love to attend some of these concerts but I can't complain because I have so much time and opportunity to travel and relax....

Bruce is coming to GR I think a couple of days after he does Cinci. My best hope right now is to work the gig, since I don't think I'll be paying for that one. But we had so much fun at Oasis that I'm thinking the boys and I will be regularly looking for cool shows to check out in the months and years to come.

My sons are excited to hear that Pink Floyd are reuniting for the Live 8 shows later this summer.

Julie, have you listened to Oasis yet? You should get a copy of Morning Glory and check out their new album (Don't Believe the Truth) if you get a chance. I'd be happy to IM you the files if you care to set something up. I think you would like them if you get into the classic Brit rock sound. I read today on a fan board that the guy who started the Killers was inspired to form a band by watching Oasis in Las Vegas back in 2000 or 2002 and look what happened!

Bill, I am a groupie and proud of it. It's one of my favorite identities. :)

I have a rought draft somewhere of an article that is about the virtues and perks of being a groupie. Maybe I'll convert that into a blog entry one of these days.

Basically, when you become truly invested in anything, you get the perks of fulfilling experiences, more thorough acquaintance with the material and a sense of history and community (sounds a lot like being a commited religious believer, no? [g]).

Glad you have the wilderness. I miss that about CA!

Dave, I will buy the CD. No need to ssend files. Your endorsement is good enough for me. :) Hope you do get to see Bruce on this tour for free. He is really great when he goes acoustic and this CD is so mature (the stories he tells are best for adults, you know?).

Oh my my my my my.....

He was here in May and I didn't get to go. My neighbor across the street was sitting next to me Saturday and said, "Do you like Bruce Springsteen? I saw him last month." It took every ounce of self control I had not to throw him into the bonfire. He had an extra ticket...he didn't know. He does now! LOL

He said it was good, but if you're a Bruce fan, then it was probably phenomenal. He just kept hurting me! ;)
