Oprah's visit with the cast

This article does a great job of narrating the Oprah interview with the Brokeback Mountain cast. I promise, I will move on from this topic eventually. I just keep running into people who don't seem to have had much clarity about what this story really is. So I want to help ease the anxieties about it and share why it is such a special love story.

And after all, I like the idea of supporting freedom to love whenever possible.

There's some palpable chemistry being exchanged in that pic, Julie! It seems like the experience of being in this movie and all that's followed has forged a bond between Heath and Jake. This keeps getting more interesting all the time...

Jake has said that he feels like they've forged a lifelong friendship/bond through the experience. It's evident when they interview. Heath said that he felt he could trust Jake and that it made a huge difference in their onscreen chemistry.

Both seem genuinely surprised by the success of the film and they are both really gracious in interviews. Refreshing in the midst of wipe-out young actors like Lindsey Lohan, for instance.

SAG awards tonight. Should be interesting if they win any. Pundits say no.

I should add that Jake said in an interview that what makes a great love story is a great obstacle. This is one of the few obstacles that still exists that we know about.

One writer called it the Romeo and Juliet story of our time, for that reason.
