One of the supervisors called a Wal-Mart and ordered a cake. He told them to write: "Best Wishes Suzanne" and underneath that, write "We will miss you." Here's the cake that was delivered:
Julie, This is just hilarious - and I find it especially so because my dear, late mother helped raise 5 kids by decorating cakes. I'm trying to remember if she did anything this funny -- of course she did speak standard English (as we Ohioans like to think that we do), but still...
Julie, I'm new to your blogs and find them simply delightful. Happens though that I do live overseas so if you see on your site statistics a surge in hits from *far, far away* you'll know (at least part of) that it's me!
Also - I'm requesting permission to post your cake annecdote on my own blog (address below) and of course I will credit your site. In fact, by the time you read this, it might already be posted. It's simply to good not to share. =)
Thanks so much, Eileen (http://russiawithlove.blogspot.com)
That's pretty classic... I expect to see that cake again in some mass fwd email of "funnies" that a few relatives and friends are fond of sending me from time to time. It seems destined for a life of its own on the internet.
Not sure whether to laugh or cry! (...I laughed!)
ReplyDeleteThis is too funny! Thanks for the laugh.
