Game Two

7:06 Why do I have the feeling I'm going 0 for 2 this weekend? What a strange TD.

7:18 1st and 20 for the Colts. Touchdown knocked out of the air. Good defensive play.

7:26 End of first quarter. Pats: 7, Colts 3

7:37 Clutch 4th down conversion! And now a Corey Dillon (former Bengal) TD. Wow. I got it all wrong this time.

7:42 And away the Patriots go, like Paul Revere's night ride. TD Pats. 21 Pats 3 Colts

8:07 Colts have a critical 3rd down here.

8:15 So no end zone and they are how many qtrs without TDs? I'm thinking the Pats feel very comfortable, if you ask me.

Halftime

Unfortunately, it looks like game over to me and I will have to remember that I should always pick according to what I believe about who can win, not who I want to win.

8:32 Here we go. Can the Colts make some tracks?

8:41 So the Colts got that one. One down and one more to go to catch up. Pats: 21 Colts: 13

8:58 Colts TD and why are they going for two?

8:59 Oh that's why. :) Game is tied.

4th qtr

Current score: Pats: 28 Colts: 21

Manning on the move.

9:23 I have never seen so many fumble-type TDs in the history of football! Tied!

9:49 FG good - Tied at 31

9:54 FG Pats... glad they didn't score a TD. Gives Colts a chance...

The biggest come-back win in play-off history!

Final score: Colts 38 Patriots 34

  2. BTW, boogieman is my hero. He took me back to our store, in the snow, to get my extra AC adaptor so I could watch and comment on my laptop.

    True love.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Yes, well they're both fun to watch. I won't be sad if the Colts lose. I enjoy the Pats.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Oh tell him he is my friend now too. That is so nice of him! I'm tyring to finish grading very poorly written essays. Ugh.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Definitely a game of inches so far...

    ReplyDelete
  6. Hey, did you see the commercial for the Buick Open? We can get our Tiger fix next weekend!

    ReplyDelete
  7. I did just see that! Nice that it's scheduled between play-offs and Superbowl. I miss Tiger.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Wow, 4th and six, they have some big cahones. And they get it.

And they walk in for the TD.

    goodness...

    ReplyDelete
  9. Yeah, walking all over them, more like.

The Colts have to find their defense to beat the Pats. I tell you what, the play calling is amazing.

And I can't help but like Tom Brady.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Wow. I got it all wrong this time.

    Lot's of football left, tho.

(Not that I want to show any mercy to the Colts!)

    ReplyDelete
  11. ohhhh, maybe not so much football left. that's gotta hurt the psyche.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Don't you find it amazing that the Patriots were ignored for most of the season and that Belichick was criticized for his player trading.

If they win this whole thing, they are the best ever.

Oh no! Sack at the 5!

    ReplyDelete
  13. It is amazing. They are good even when they are bad. Top notch leadership and coaching.

I love how they don't have any big-egos. Redskins could sure take a page out of that book.

It is such a mental game and there are none tougher than the pats.

    ReplyDelete
  14. It's just odd that the game seems so unbalanced so quickly.

Now see, I picked the Pats last week when most people didn't becaue I think Brady is the guy to count on. It looks like that is the truth again here.

Manning said Brady in the post-season is not the same animal as in the regular season. Wow.

    ReplyDelete
  15. ruh-roh third and 21...and a sack..could the colts get some life out of this?

    ReplyDelete
  16. But remember, they have, ahem, several TDs to make up.

    ReplyDelete
  17. There we go! Hanging on for a 1st.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Phew. They have to score a TD. They have had a drought and now's the time to do it. Before the half.

    ReplyDelete
  19. that's a good call, I think.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Yeah, of course you think that. :)

Do you kick the field goal or go for the TD?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Well, it's done now, but I agree with getting the three.

It was a good call, tho ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  22. we got ourselves a ballgame here...

that was a great series by the colts.

    ReplyDelete
  23. killer hit, i heard that from here!

colts gots some fight in em

    ReplyDelete
  24. I am getting a little worried...flu, cramps,...ruh-roh

    ReplyDelete
  25. Aha!! They are better than I thought. Wah, wah.

    ReplyDelete
  26. facegaurding...never heard of it...wow, learn something new...

    colts go for two?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Did you see that huge guy catch that pass? Ballet, I tell you.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I'm not feeling so warm and fuzzy anymore...

    ReplyDelete
  29. I bet you are now. Wow. That run back was ridiculous! Just when I think they've got momentum...

    ReplyDelete
  30. hmmm...80 yard return...feeling a little better.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Remember, I have to live with boogieman if he goes two and oh.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Ah did that poor guy drop da ball? Boo hoo. NOT!

    ReplyDelete
  33. how did he drop that, oh the agony.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Was he out of bounds when he leaped? Of course he was.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Not so fast, sweet-heart.

    ReplyDelete
  36. dreaded red flag....i don't see how you can tell if he was out of bounds before the catch ?!?!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I don't really get why pushing out of bounds is not okay. Do you know why?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Here it comes: You happy girl.

    ReplyDelete
  39. a-very-big-exahale-here...

    ReplyDelete
  40. if he is pushed out of bounds in the process of jumping for a catch and he would have landed in bounds then it is ruled a catch...is that what you mean?

why? because the football rule gods have deemed it that way. O guess it would be awfully easy to defend on the sidelines and endzone if not for that rule.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Okay, Back to breathing. Manning has to get the job done. That's how it works.

    ReplyDelete
  42. sorry about the injury, but nice rest for the Pat D.

    ReplyDelete
  43. hmmm, you are a much kinder, gentler football fan than I...

    ReplyDelete
  44. I noticed you crazy thing. I guess it's the left over from Carson's knee injury. We had to hear about every incremental step of recovery he made. Play-off injuries are especially painful, doncha think?

    ReplyDelete
  45. Peyton is cooperating with you Julie...keep coachin him up...

    ReplyDelete
  46. Yes, well... he knows I can't go 0 and 2, right?

    The Pat D looks exhausted.

    ReplyDelete
  47. TD!! Woo-hoo! right back atcha, they say.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Well, I do hate if a player misses the superbowl to an injury.

another crazy-fumble-touchdown...man this game has it all...

    ReplyDelete
  49. Kim, we're up to like 55 crazy comments! I love having you over for the game. Ha! Ha! (Those were chest bumps)

Do you love the diet pepsi commercial? I love it.

    ReplyDelete
  50. yes, but if the Pats lose, I'm 0-2 :-(.

And I will not be able to live with the Peyton superbowl hype.

I will have to go live in a cave.

Thank God for NASCAR and the Daytona 500. I still have that to look forward to.

    ReplyDelete
  51. This is a blast, Julie...

We will have to watch a game together IRL someday!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Next time we'll have to set up an IM chat. Makes more sense, don't you think? Love this.

    ReplyDelete
  53. yes, how crazy will these comments seem to others, after the fact, LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  54. It's not possible that you are still grading essays, is it?

    ReplyDelete
  55. Well, I think I'm going to take it down when it's over. A bit silly. But so much fun! I'm grading all at the same time.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I really am. They are not super long and the comments are starting to repeat themselves. I do one every couple minutes. :)

    ReplyDelete
  57. oh, if you are going to take it down then I can start using my full repertoire of swear words ;)

    ReplyDelete
  58. Ha! Guess what essay I just opened? One written by a student about Paul Brown and the Bengals! :) How funny is that?

    ReplyDelete
  59. So did you pike your voo-doo peyton doll in the thumb? He's injured. :(

    ReplyDelete
  60. That was ugly! I'm so happy.

    ReplyDelete
  61. No flag. I honestly can't figure out when it's pass interference.

    ReplyDelete
  62. just a little contact there, crap!

    ReplyDelete
  63. ok, now we can see what is up with peyton's thumb..*stick, stick, stick*

    ReplyDelete
  64. You're back ahead. but I don't think that was what they wanted. Can Manning throw? Would it be the deepest irony if he has to sit out now?

    ReplyDelete
  65. I say: Play through it Peyton!

(that has a nice ring to it)

    ReplyDelete
  66. uh-oh

    must stop them from scoring...

    ReplyDelete
  67. Not again! Why run it on 3rd and five? But come on! They need a TD. Well, Vinateri better be as good as he's supposed to be...

Ya know, that's a couple of shaky ones.

    ReplyDelete
  68. oh good lord, that was great...

    ReplyDelete
  69. Good grief. Can they stop a single receiver?

This makes NE's drives too easy.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Hey, I'm sorry I messed up your live blogging posts with all these silly comments...but, thanks for letting me have so much fun!

    ReplyDelete
  71. In FG position AGAIN! If the Colts lose it will be because they are always playing catch up and never leading.

    ReplyDelete
  72. You haven't messed up anything! It's been a blast.

    ReplyDelete
  73. very large exhale, very large

    ReplyDelete
  74. Another 40 yard start for the Pats. That could be the game right there.

    ReplyDelete
  75. boogieman is a bit worried

    ReplyDelete
  76. 8-0 when games are decided by 7 pts or less - pats. Wow.

    ReplyDelete
  77. now that's not helpful, damn.

    ReplyDelete
  78. great defense

i'm not sure i can make it through an overtime!

    ReplyDelete
  79. Good grief! Can you believe this breath holding game?

    ReplyDelete
  80. oh my, this could be it...they could score...#$$%^^

    ReplyDelete
  81. half the distance to the goal!!!

    ReplyDelete
  82. Here it comes. Peyton may have it in him yet.

    ReplyDelete
  83. boogieman is a little excited right now...i mean in a football way...

    ReplyDelete
  84. They better score. i can't do an OT. I have so much grading to do but it has stopped. I can't breathe, move or think. And this isn't even my team! What a game.

    ReplyDelete
  85. LOL! we're up to 100 comments.

    ReplyDelete
  86. i'm prepared to turn off all sports talk radio until after the superbowl!!

    ReplyDelete
  87. 3rd and 2. 1:02

    What a game.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I can understand that. :)

    ReplyDelete
  89. When the Bengals lost, I was the same way for a week.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Even better!!!!!! They did it!

    ReplyDelete
  91. Hey those Pats could easily get the game typing FG with 60 secs.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Set your sights on NaSCAR dear. :)

    ReplyDelete
  93. sigh, Tiger and NASCAr, yes, this too shall pass.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Oh I can't believe this.... danger, danger.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Hi five top you too.

You made the whole thing the most fun ever!

    Have a great night.

    ReplyDelete
  96. have fun with those papers! i'm off to give boogieman a good slug in the arm ;).

Thanks for doing this...most fun I've had lately!

    ReplyDelete
  97. i can only imagine what this did for your pageviews stats on sitemeter...

    ReplyDelete
  98. I'll certainly do you the honors on the next game. :)

    ReplyDelete
  99. Wow that was so exhilarating! My heart was pounding, my pulse is just now returning to normal.

What a great, unforgettable game. This was a great day of football - none of the teams have anything to hang their heads about. The NFL put on quite a showcase today.

    ReplyDelete
  100. I did a doubletake when I saw "121" comments. Man, you and Kim were burning up cyberspace today. Looks like y'all had fun. ;-)

    Susan

    ReplyDelete
  102. "Pats himself on the back for going 2-0 this football weekend..."
